Results - Non-Normal Tab
Control Charts for Variables vs. Charts for Attributes
Select the Non-normal tab of the Results dialog box to access the options described here. Note that this tab is not available for Short Run charts, moving average and exponentially weighted moving average charts, or CuSum charts; this tab is also not available if the input data file contains aggregated data (sample means and ranges or standard deviations; in that case skewness and kurtosis statistics are not available, and non-normal charts and related results cannot be computed). Also note that when sets are specified, either via the Results dialog box - Sets tab or the Defining Variables dialog box - Sets tab, skewness and kurtosis are calculated from the total sample not the data in individual sets. See also, Process Analysis for process capability analysis options for non-normal data.
- Specs for non-normal control limits
- For Skewness and Kurtosis, you can select to have the values Computed from data, or you can select User defined and enter the number in the box or use the microscrolls to adjust the number.
- X-bar chart
- Click this button to create a compound graph that is made up of two individual graphs: a non-normal X-bar chart and a histogram of means (not available for all analysis types).
- Chart summary
- Click this button to produce a spreadsheet summary of descriptive statistics.
- Outlier summary
- Click this button to create a spreadsheet summary for outliers.
- Descriptive stats
- Click this button to produce a spreadsheet with an overall summary of descriptive statistics.
- Histogram of means
- Click this button to create a histogram of the sample means
Process capability.
- Histogram
- Click this button to produce a histogram of observations that includes lines for + and - 3 sigma, upper and lower specification limits, and nominal.
- Summary
- Click this button to create two spreadsheet summaries for process capability.
