Experimental Design Builder and Quick Tab

In the Design & Analysis of Experiments Startup Panel, on the Advanced tab, select Experimental Design Builder and click the OK button to display the Experimental Design Builder, which contains two tabs: Quick and Design Options. You can also double-click Experimental Design Builder in the Startup Panel to display this dialog box.

Experimental Design Builder

These options are available regardless of which tab is selected.

OK. Click this button after you have specified the appropriate design options to display the Experimental Design Builder Results dialog box.

Cancel. Click this button to close the dialog box without performing an analysis.

Options. Click this button to display the Options menu.

Quick Tab

Select the Quick tab in the Experimental Design Builder to access the options described here.

Factor specification. Use these options to specify the number and types of factors to use in your design.

Type
Specify the type of factor to add to the design. Statistica supports the following types of factors: Categorical, Continuous, Blocking, Mixture, Covariate (Continuous), and Covariate (Categorical).
N levels
Specify the number of levels for a categorical factor.
Runs per block
Specify the number of runs per block for a blocking factor.

Add factors. Click this button to add N factors to the design, where N is the user-defined value specified in the N factors numeric input box.

N factors. Specify the number of factors to add to the design.

Remove. Click this button to remove the selected factors in the list box.

Factor name. After adding a factor to the design, you can enter the name of the factor in this column.

Type. Review the type of factor in this column.

Easy/Hard. Click on the entry in this column and select from the drop-down list whether the specific factor is hard or easy to change.

Values. Specify the values for the factor in this column. If the variable is categorical, specify the list of categorical levels. If the variable is quantitative (e.g. continuous, mixture), specify the minimum and maximum values in this column.

Specify effect(s). Click this button to display the Specify Effects dialog box, where you can specify the effects to be included in the design.

Number of runs. Specify the number of runs or design points that should be included in the design.
