Plot: General (3D Sequential Graphs)
These options are available in the General dialog box (accessed by right-clicking on the plot and selecting Properties from the shortcut menu) as well as via the General tab of the Graph Options dialog box, when you have created a 3D sequential graph. Use these options to customize the general plot features including markers, different types of lines as well as the walls that are plotted in the 3D sequential graph.
- Plot
- Although all of the options are the same for each plot, you can make changes to each plot independently of the other. Use the Plot drop-down box to select the plot to which you want to make changes.
- On
- Select the On check box to include the current Plot (see above) in the graph; if this check box is cleared, the respective plot will not be shown in the graph.
- Add new plot/Delete
- To add a new plot, click the Add new plot button and specify the plot to create in the New plot(s) dialog box. To delete a plot, select the plot to be deleted in the Plot box and click the Delete button. Note that, if there is only one plot in the graph, you cannot delete it (the Delete button will be unavailable). However, you can choose not to display the plot by clearing the On check box (see above).
- Top/Bottom, X Wall, Y Wall
- If your graph displays walls (e.g., Columns, Blocks, or Ribbons etc.), then by using the Top/Bottom, X Wall, Y Wall buttons you can customize the pattern of the Top/Bottom, X, or Y Walls in the plot. When you select one of these buttons, the Area Properties dialog box will be displayed in which you can choose a color and pattern for the specified wall. The current specifications of these walls are displayed in their respective view boxes.
- Border
- Click the Border button to display the Line Properties dialog box in which you can change the color, pattern, and size of the line used in drawing borders of the walls. The current specifications for the border are shown in the view box on the Border button.
- Marker
- Click the Marker button to display the Marker Properties dialog box in which you can customize the appearance (i.e., size, pattern, and color) of the marker used in your graph. The current specifications for the markers are shown in the view box on the Marker button.
- Trace line/Spike line
- If your graph displays lines and/or spikes (as in 3D Range Plot, for example), you can change the line properties. Click the Trace line button (to change the trace lines) or the Spike line button (to change the spike lines). This will display the Line Properties dialog box in which you can customize the appearance (i.e., size, pattern, and color) of the trace line or spike line. The current specifications of the trace and spike lines will be shown in their respective view boxes.
- Style
- Instead of using the options on this tab (e.g., Marker, Trace Line, etc.), you can select the style you want to use for this plot from the Style drop-down box. To view a menu of options related to styles (Save, Save As, Revert to unmodified, etc.), click the button next to this box. See Graphics Styles for additional details.
