General C&R Trees Wizard - Extended Options

Click the Next button on the Analysis Wizard General Classification and Regression Trees - Between Design dialog box to display the General C&R Trees Wizard - Extended Options dialog box, which contains five tabs: Quick, Classification, Stopping, Validation, and Advanced. The options described here are available regardless of which tab is selected.

OK (Run). Click the OK (Run) button to begin the computations and display the GC&RT Results dialog box.

Cancel
Click the Cancel button to return to the General Classification and Regression Trees Startup Panel.
< Back
Click the < Back button to move back to the previous dialog box in the Analysis Wizard.
Select Cases
Click the Select Cases button to display the Analysis/Graph Case Selection Conditions dialog box, which is used to create conditions for which cases will be included (or excluded) in the current analysis. More information is available in the case selection conditions overview and syntax summary.
W
Click the W (Weight) button to display the Analysis/Graph Case Weights dialog box, which is used to adjust the contribution of individual cases to the outcome of the current analysis by "weighting" those cases in proportion to the values of a selected variable.
Categorical response
Select this check box to analyze a dependent (criterion) variable that is categorical in nature, i.e., to perform a classification analysis. When this check box is selected, the Response codes button on the Quick tab will become active, provided you have specified a dependent variable. Note that if this check box is not selected, even the categorical response variable selected for the analysis will be treated as a continuous response variable. Likewise, if the selected dependent variable is continuous and the Categorical response check box is selected, the dependent variable will be treated as categorical.
Options
Click the Options button to display the Options menu.

Syntax editor. Click the Syntax editor button to display the GC&RT Analysis Syntax Editor; all current specifications (e.g., variable selections, design specifications) on the Analysis Wizard dialogs will automatically be transferred (translated) to the syntax editor, and can be further modified or saved. However, note that when you click the < Back button on the GC&RT Analysis Syntax Editor dialog after introducing additional customizations, those customizations created in the GC&RT Analysis Syntax Editor dialog will not be translated "back" to the Analysis Wizard dialog boxes.
