Frequency Tables - Options Tab

Select the Options tab of the Frequency Tables dialog box to access the options described here. This tab contains display options and options for reporting missing data and non-selected cases.

Display options for frequency tables

The selection of options in this group box determines the statistics that are computed for each category in the Summary: Frequency tables spreadsheet.

Note: all percentages are computed with respect to the total number of cases reported in the table; that is, including or excluding missing data and/or out-of-range values, depending on the settings in the MD deletion group box.

Cumulative frequencies

Select the Cumulative frequencies check box to report the cumulative frequencies.

Percentages (relative frequencies)

Select the Percentages (relative frequencies) check box to report the relative frequencies (percentages).

Cumulative percentages

Select the Cumulative percentages check box to report the relative cumulative frequencies (cumulative percentages).

100% minus cumulative percentages

Select the 100% minus cumulative percentages check box to report the 100-minus-cumulative-percent-values for each category.

Logit transformed proportions

Select the Logit transformed proportions check box to report the logit-transformed cumulative proportions for each category in the frequency table.

Specifically, the logits for a category i are computed from the respective cumulative proportion pi as: Logiti=natural log(pi/(1-pi)).

Probit transformed proportions

Select the Logit transformed proportions check box to report the probit-transformed cumulative proportions for each category in the frequency table.

Specifically, probits are computed as the normal values (z-values) associated with the probability (cumulative proportion of observations) in the respective cell.

Normal expected frequencies

Select the Normal expected frequencies check box to report the expected frequencies (computed based on the normal distribution) for each category in the frequency table.

Count and report missing data (MD)

Select the Count and report missing data (MD) check box to display an extra category for missing data in the frequency table spreadsheets.

Also, percentages and cumulative percentages will be computed relative to the total number of cases plus the number of missing data.

Count and report MD & non-selected cases

Select the Count and report MD & non-selected cases check box to display an extra category for non-selected (and non-missing) cases in the frequency table spreadsheets.

Also, percentages and cumulative percentages will be computed relative to the total number of cases plus the number of non-selected, non-missing cases. Note that this option is not available (active) if the current Categorization method for tables & graphs is set to one of the first four options on the Advanced tab. In those instances, the regular categories of the frequency table will always include all non-missing data.
