Validating and saving the extensions

You can validate and save the configuration in Spotfire Package Builder.

Perform this task in Spotfire Package Builder.

Before you begin

You have completed the tasks described in Extending the Spotfire installation.
You have developed and debugged the extension.
You have signed the code for the extension.

Procedure

Open the extension in Spotfire Package Builder.
The warning icon indicates that the configuration has not been saved.

Click Validate and Save.

Validation includes all selected packages, as well as selected base Spotfire distributions. Spotfire Package Builder validation verifies the following key configuration characteristics before it creates a deployment package.

All assembly references in all of the components are present.
All resource names in all of the components are unique.
All files defined in module.xml exist.
All information in module.xml is correct.

The icon and information in the validation pane provide the validation status.


Validating configuration	The validation is in progress.
Configuration is valid	Successful validation.
Configuration is invalid	Configuration has failed and is not valid.
