Reverting to a previous version of a file
If an analysis or other type of file has become corrupted when it was modified, you can use the versioning functionality in the library to revert to a previous version of the file. You can also look at previous versions to review the library version history of a file.
About this task
Note: Some components used within an analysis can be updated separately
in the library (e.g., data functions, or visualization mods). If such a linked
item is used in the analysis, you might not see exactly the same thing that you
saw earlier when reverting an analysis, unless you also revert the component.
Permissions to a file are always based on the latest version of the file and are never reverted.
Procedure
- Log in to the Spotfire Server web administration pages and click Library.
- Browse or search for the file to revert.
- Right-click the row of the item and select View version history, or open the details panel and click Version history.
- In the Version history list to the right, right-click on the version you desire to revert to, and select Restore.
Results
Tip: You can also save a copy of a specific version as a new
file by right-clicking it in the
Version history list and selecting
Save version as new file.
