Automation Services job activity
Under Automation Services in the navigation panel to the left, click Job activity to see an overview of all job activity on the server. This page also includes links or shortcuts to other pages and logs that provide detailed information on job executions.
Automation Services jobs can be initiated in several different ways, either by scheduling or running a saved automation job from the library using the Spotfire Server web administration pages, by initiating a job from a local client using Automation Services Job Builder, by using the create-scheduled-jobs command, using a schedule that was created in Windows Task Scheduler and then run the job using the Client Job Sender, or, it can be initiated using the web service API.
For information about the Job Builder or Client Job Sender, see the Automation Services User Guide.
In the Job activity table, you can quickly get an overview of all jobs that have been run on the server, and you can sort the different columns by clicking on the table headers to find jobs of a specific Status, or see the Details about why a job has failed, and so on.
To reduce the number of activities currently shown in the job activity list, you can use the Filters control to apply some quick filters, like Successful jobs or Failed jobs, and so on, or, you can type a search expression directly to filter the list.
- You scheduled the activity in the Spotfire Server web administration pages and no other user has been the last to edit the scheduled job.
- You were the last person to edit a scheduled job that was created in the Spotfire administration interface (by any user).
By default, job activities older than a week is deleted. If your organization runs many Automation Services jobs, you might want to reduce the default time period for deleting job history items from the database. For instructions, see Changing how often the scheduled job history is cleared. You might also want to consider other options for tracking history, such as action logging. For more information, see Action logs and system monitoring.
You can clear individual job activities by selecting one or more rows in the table and then use the option above the table, or from the context menus. Clear the activity for all jobs using the option, or use one of the other options to clear Activities older than 24 hours or Activities older than a week.
