Establishing permissions to write to a directory

On a Linux server, You must make sure that the user has appropriate permissions to install Spotfire Statistics Services.

Procedure

  1. Log on as the user under which Spotfire Statistics Services is to run. This must be a valid user account. (Never log in as root. See Security recommendations for more information.)
  2. Make sure that the user has permissions to write to the desired installation directory.
  3. Follow the procedure in UNIX or Linux installation.
