New Features
The following new features have been added to the version 9.1.0 of TIBCO MDM.
- New TIBCO MDM UI

UI Enhancements Description Vertical left menu bar To improve the user's browsing experience, the vertical left menu bar is added on the TIBCO MDM UI. The vertical left menu bar provides more flexibility with menu items. In addition, you can hide the left menu bar that provides more space for content. . For information, refer to the section, Switching Between Menu Bars in TIBCO MDM User's Guide. Home page dashboard Click Home Page on the upper-right corner of the TIBCO MDM UI. The home page dashboard is displayed. You can monitor the data quality and manage the inbox on the dashboard. The dashboard can be used to add custom widget using UI Builder. For information, refer to TIBCO MDM User's Guide.

- Golden Record Cache
- By using golden record cache, you can maintain a golden copy of a record in memory for fast access. Golden record cache uses ActiveSpaces or Apache Ignite to store the golden copy record data and is separately maintained from the TIBCO MDM internal cache. This cache can be used to query golden records and create and drop cache indexes through a REST interface. The golden record cache can also be used to embed external non-MDM attributes into the cache.
- Apache Ignite
- Apache Ignite is introduced as the distributed caching option for TIBCO MDM. Apache Ignite is a collection of independent, well-integrated, in-memory components. Apache Ignite improves the performance and scalability of TIBCO MDM.
- Address Cleansing
- Address cleansing through an external provider is now supported for automated use, such as, bulk import and a single record modifications. A new activity Address Cleansing is added to import workflow for cleansing of address records using configured geocoding service while records import. By default, it uses the TIBCO GeoAnalytics service. For information on using Address Cleansing, refer to TIBCO MDM User's Guide and TIBCO MDM Workflow Reference. For cleansing of a single address record while add or modify operations using web services and REST services, the geocode is added in rulebase. For information on the rulebase function, refer to TIBCO MDM Studio Rulebase Designer Guide.
- REST Services
- In 9.1.0 release, the REST services support only the
and
HTTP methods. The DELETE and PUT HTTP methods have been removed for security reasons.
- Attribute Quality
- The quality of an attribute can be defined, monitored, and displayed prominently in the new dashboard. Attribute quality can fall into three classes: After you deploy the custom UI page for the attribute quality, the quality attribute score data is displayed on the chart, summary control, or statistics widget. For more information on using Attribute Quality, refer to TIBCO MDM User's Guide and TIBCO MDM System Administration.
- Enhancements to Work Item
- The following enhancements are made to work items displayed on the Inbox screen:
- An Approve icon to quick approve work items.
- Searching and sorting of record attributes based on the selection of Searchable and Display in Record List options
- Purge Enhancements
- The following enhancements have been made to the purge functionality:
- Introduced new purge modes for the command-line execution as well as scheduled purge job.
- The internal database table structures have been changed by removing cascading deletes for better performance in case of large volumes.
- Introduced purge policies to implicitly define the input parameters and make it simple to define a purge scheduler or command.
- Purge a set of records with the Batch mode or Bulk mode by specifying a criteria.
- Patterns Enhancements
- The following TIBCO Patterns enhancements are now packaged as a part of TIBCO MDM to support multilevel record matching: querylet references, matchcase score combiner, and querylet grouping.
- Miscellaneous Enhancements
- The following table lists the miscellaneous enhancements that are added in the 9.1.0 release of TIBCO MDM:
Name Description Impact on Documentation Change in super user password The existing password of a super user is changed to a longer password to increase security. The Superuser Password section in TIBCO MDM Installation and Configuration Guide is updated. Change in application server name The JBoss application server community project has been renamed to the WildFly community project. Therefore, the application server name has been renamed to JBoss WildFly application server name. The following sections have been updated in TIBCO MDM Installation and Configuration Guide: New password policy The new password policy is introduced for database user management. The configuration properties are specified in Configurator for setting up a password A new section Configuration Properties for Password is created in TIBCO MDM System Administration. Perspective enhancements You can specify a list of values to set the default perspective for a user or a role. Use the List of Default Perspective property in Configurator to retrieve the default perspective based on a user or a role. The Browsing Perspective Based Records section in TIBCO MDM User's Guide is updated. Mandatory red indicator If a repository contains any required attributes, the red asterisk (*) sign is shown for those attributes. You can change the style and color of the asterisk (*) sign by using the CSS file. - A new section Mandatory Fields is created in TIBCO MDM User's Guide.
- A new section Customizing Mandatory Indicator is created in TIBCO MDM Customization Guide.
GenerateReportForSDD The new parameter-NumberOfRecordsToIncludeInReport is added. You can now add maximum number of records that need to be included in the duplicate detection report. The section GenerateReportForSDD Parameters and Valid Execution Modes in TIBCO MDM Workflow Reference has been updated. File drag and drop You can now upload a file using the drag and drop feature on the Add Record and Modify Record screens. This feature is available for the File Type and Multivalue File Type attributes. The section Creating Records in the TIBCO MDM User's Guide has been updated. Multiple selection of user and roles You can now select multiple users and roles when creating or modifying a user, and when managing your account details. The TIBCO MDM User's Guide has been updated. Import enhancements You can now use the Delete Relationships Only check box to delete the relationships between the two records. The following sections have been updated in TIBCO MDM User's Guide:
