Actions on a Hierarchy

On the Hierarchies page, you can perform various actions on a hierarchy.

Note: Actions available on the Hierarchies page are restricted by the access control list. Thus, some of the actions described may not be available to you, depending on the resource security defined. See Defining Resource Security for a list of all access permissions that can be defined.
You can perform the following actions on a hierarchy:

Click to create a new hierarchy or import a hierarchy.
Click to export the hierarchy.
Click to view the version history of the hierarchy.
Click to link records to the hierarchy.

From the Link Records page, you can split nodes and merge nodes.

Click to delete an existing hierarchy.
Click to unlock hierarchy.

If the hierarchy is pending for approval in a work item, you cannot unlock the hierarchy. You must have permission to unlock the hierarchy and hierarchy must be valid to be unlocked.
