Configure - Conversion Rule Details
From the Configure - Conversion Rules page, click Add or double-click an existing conversion rule, and then the Conversion Rule Details page is displayed.
The following table describes the items that are available on the Conversion Rule Details page:
Item | Description |
---|---|
Name | Type a name for the conversion rule. |
Message | Type a message name for the conversion rule, or click the icon to select one. |
Buffer | Type a buffer name for the conversion rule, or click the icon to select one. |
Max Buffer Size | (Optional) Enter a maximum size of the buffer (data area) that is used for communication.
By default, it is set to 0. |
Create or Edit Mapping | Click this button to edit the conversion rule mapping.

In the EMS Details area, the following items are available: | |
Input Message Type | Select one of the following message type for a nested message: |
Use Size From | This value is used only with TIBCO Enterprise Message Service messages and only when the message type is
Bytes or
Text.
You can select Message or Buffer from the list. |
Item | Description |
---|---|
Search | Type a message field name as the keyword in the search box to retrieve message fields. |
Message: Message Name | Displays a list of message fields in this message. |
Sort by | Click Message Fields or Buffer Fields to sort the displayed messages. |
Message Fields | Displays the list of selected message fields to do the conversion rule mapping. |
Buffer Fields | Displays the list of selected buffer fields to do the conversion rule mapping. |
Req. | Indicates whether the message field is required for a conversion. |
System | Indicates whether the field is a system field. |
Trunc. | Indicates whether to truncate the data that extends beyond the specified buffer length allocated for a message field. |
Search | Type a buffer field name as the keyword in the search box to retrieve buffer fields. |
Buffer: Buffer Name | Displays a list of buffer fields in this buffer. |
Finish | Click this button to save and close the page. |
