Realm Service Database Restore

After a backup of the primary realm service is created, you can restore the realm service from the backup by using this procedure.

Procedure

  1. Stop all realm services.
  2. Replace the primary realm service's rs_data.db file in the realm service's data directory by overwriting it with the backup file created previously.
  3. Restart the primary realm service in its data directory or use the --data command-line option to point the realm service to the data directory.
  4. Restart other realm services such as backup or satellite, in their data directories or use the --data command-line option to point the realm service to its data directory.
When the non-primary realm services are restarted, the primary realm service deploys its restored configuration to its backup realm service and any satellite or disaster recovery servers. See the TIBCO FTL® Administration guide for situations where you might want to use the steps above for creating a backup of a realm service other than the primary. If multiple data grids are configured or you have configured other FTL applications along with your data grid, you must use this method and always only restore from the latest realm service backup and its associated ActiveSpaces checkpoint.
