Alternate Model Loading Process
You can use TIBCO Product and Service Catalog or a similar modeling product to publish partial updates to TIBCO OPE.
All model changes are published either in its entirety or partially, the process is tested in the Integration Test or the User Acceptance Test. When partially publishing models, few models are published
Before describing the alternate model loading process, it is worth noting the current approach for publishing models in the production environment.
- Create models in the TIBCO Product and Service Catalog in the integration test environment.
- Publish models to TIBCO OPE in the integration test environment.
- Perform end-to-end tests in the test environment.
- Publish the models in the production environment.
- Perform sanity tests in the production environment.
- Confirm that the models have been processed correctly.
In the alternate loading process, the model files that are processed are copied rather than published to the production environment.
This alternate loading process is as follows:
- Create models in the TIBCO Product and Service Catalog in the integration test environment.
- Publish models to TIBCO OPE in the integration test environment.
- Perform end-to-end tests in the test environment.
- Copy the model xml files for those models from the integration test environment to the production environment.
- Update Consul to send model publish notifications to all OPE instances.
