Exporting Data to Salesforce

You can export project data to Salesforce as existing business objects or new business objects.

Procedure

  1. On the project data page, click , and then click Export project > To Salesforce.
  2. From the Saved connections list, select a saved connection to use.
    Note: If it is your first time creating a Salesforce connection, this option is disabled.
  3. Enter the user name and password to connect to Salesforce.
  4. In the Security tag field, enter a security tag.
  5. Click Next when the connection is established.
  6. In the Login timeout field, enter a timeout interval in seconds.
  7. Click Connect.
    The dialog is displayed when a valid connection is established.

  8. Select how to export project data to Salesforce:
    • If you want to export your project data based an existing business object, click Operate existing business objects:
      1. Select a business object.
      2. From the Operation type list, select an operation type.

        Select Update Records to update the records in the selected business object according to your project data.

        Select Upsert Records to insert your project data to the selected business object.

        Select Delete Records to replace the records in the selected business object with your project data.

      3. Map the project column with the business object fields.
    • If you want to export your project data as a new business object, click Create new business object:
      1. Enter a business object name.
      2. Select the column to be exported.

        By default, all the columns are selected.

      3. In the (Salesforce) New name field, enter a new name for the corresponding column to be displayed in Salesforce.
      4. From the Type list, select a data type for the column to use in Salesforce.
      5. Enter a value in the corresponding customFieldLength field.
  9. Click Finish to export your project data.
