Defining Data: Options
Select the Options tab of the Defining Data dialog box to access the options described here.
Interactive filtering.
- Show Defining Data dialog when running
- Select the Show Defining Data dialog when running check box to display the Defining Data dialog each time the Analysis Configuration is run.
- Show SQL Criteria when running
- Select this check box to display the SQL Criteria dialog box each time the Analysis Configuration is run. Just as in the process of creating or modifying an Analysis Configuration, this dialog box enables the user to specify additional criteria to further drill-down into data.
Statistica data file.
- File name
- Enter a name in the File name box that specifies the name of the Statistica data file created when launching an Analysis Configuration. By default, Statistica generates a data file having the same name as the Analysis Configuration.
- Browse
- Click the Browse button to display the standard Windows Open dialog box, where you can select a previously saved data file (*.sta).
- Limit maximum number of cases to
- Select this check box and enter a value in the adjacent field to limit the number of cases that will be retrieved when the Analysis Configuration is run. For example, if you select this check box and enter a 400, no more than 400 cases will be retrieved. You can enter the number directly or use the microscrolls to adjust the default value.
- Header information
- Click the Header information button to display the Header information dialog box, where you can specify header information to be placed in the generated IQC output. Header information can be placed in either the IQC graphs and/or into the data file that is generated by the IQC Analysis Configuration.
- Display format
- Click the Display format button to display the Display Formats for Variables dialog box, where you have control over the display format of different types of data within the Statistica data file. You can specify display settings for general data variables, label variables, and time stamp variables.
- Additional variables
- Click the Additional variables button to display the Additional variables dialog box, which is used to add variables to the data file, as well as either a formula to define the data for the variable or else, a long description for the variable. For example, consider a Data Configuration that contains information regarding sales totals. You may know that due to a pattern in the sales fluctuations over the year, you will need to transform the sales figures before analyzing them. You can use the Additional variables option to add a variable, LogSales, and express a formula, = Log(SALES). When the Analysis Configuration is run and data (variables) appear in the resulting Statistica Spreadsheet, any new variables that you have defined here will appear last (far right of all other variables).
- Locking
- Click the Locking button to display the Lock Spreadsheet dialog box, which is used to specify locking conditions for the spreadsheet created when the Analysis Configuration is run.
- Global options
- Under Global options are several features that can be used to further customize the Analysis Configuration.
- Display date/time warning
- When this check box is selected, the Analysis Configuration prompts you to confirm the date and time to be used when the Analysis Configuration is run.
- Data file path
- The file path entered here determines where the Statistica data files that the Analysis Configurations create are stored.
Miscellaneous.
- Show multiple IQC projects
- The selection of this check box determines whether results for more than one characteristic are shown simultaneously on the screen. By default, if an IQC Analysis Configuration produces results for multiple characteristics, only the results for one are shown, with others created but minimized. Selecting this option ensures that all results are shown simultaneously.
- Hide Analysis Dialog
- Select this check box so that the Analysis dialog box will not be displayed preventing unauthorized users access to chart controls.
- Custom cache size
- This check box with supporting text field allows the user to define how much memory each QC analysis (analysis associated to each SPC Characteristic) will use when running the Analysis Configuration.
- Cancel
- Click the Cancel button to cancel the running of the Analysis Configuration.
- Next
- Click the Next button to continue editing the details of the Analysis Configuration and edit the Defining Auto Updating Properties.
- Finish
- Click the Finish button to complete the option selected and run the Analysis Configuration.
