Object Summary

Click this button to produce a textual summary of the object and all its properties.

Note: Data Entry Setup configurations will be visible in the Web Data Entry website when they are unapproved or approved, because the form created by the configuration must be tested before it can be approved. After the configuration is approved, only the latest approved Data Entry Setup is shown in Web Data Entry website.

Every form is associated with a specific version of the Data Entry Setup configuration. For example:

  1. Start Enterprise Manager and create a Data Entry Setup with Characteristics A and B, and approve it.
  2. Open a browser and visit the Web Data Entry website.
  3. Enter data in the form for Characteristic A and B.
  4. Save and complete the form.
  5. Return to Enterprise Manager and edit the Data Entry Setup. Delete Characteristic B and add a new Characteristic C. Approve the configuration.
  6. Return to the browser and view the old form entered earlier. You will only see Characteristic A and Characteristic B because that version of the Data Configuration Setup had these fields.
  7. Create a new form from the Data Entry Setup. You can enter data for Characteristic A and C. The version number of the Data Entry Setup is shown on each form.

Note:
Require approval of samples This option only applies to Web Data Entry. Select this check box to require approval of entered data.

Example: User One enters data and saves and completes it, which sets a status of Complete. User One can no longer change this data. Only a user with Historical Edit (EDIT) permissions can change the data.

User Two reviews the entered data. If an error is found in the data, User Two can request that the data be revised. If no errors are found, User Two can approve the data. The status of this data is Approved.

User One and User Two cannot be the same person unless this is allowed via System Options - Data Entry options.

An electronic record of the approval is stored in the Audit Log.

Complete on save
Select this check box to remove the Save button from the web form. Users of the web form will only see the Save and Complete button. The Save button enables users to enter data without updating the form's status as Complete. The Save button does not require an electronic signature.
Blind Data Entry
Enable this option to use double blind data entry verification. Two people enter the same data. The system verifies the entered data matches.
Manual approval
While the system verifies that the data entered by two people matches or does not match, the system does not change the data's status to approved. A third user must log on and review the two samples and approve or require revisions.
Automatic approval
As soon as the second form is filled out and the Save and Complete button is clicked, the system verifies if the data matches or does not match. The system automatically approves the sample or requires revisions.
