Defining Data: SPC Characteristics
The Defining Data dialog box is displayed when running an analysis if the Show Defining Data dialog check box is selected in the Run Options view. Select the SPC Characteristics tab to access these options, which define chart options and other SPC Options that are to be applied to each SPC Characteristic in the IQC Analysis Configuration. The options described below will only be available when running an IQC Analysis Configuration and there are SPC Characteristics defined.
- Characteristic
- From this drop-down list, choose an SPC Characteristic that you want to modify.
Basic specifications.
- Chart type
- Select a quality control chart type from this drop-down list. Available chart types are Xbar & R, Individuals & Moving Range, Xbar & S, Moving Average, Moving Average and R, Moving Average and S, EWMA and R, EWMA and S, C, U, Np, P, and Pareto. Additional options for specifying sample sizes and parameters are displayed based on the type of chart selected here.
- Sample size
- For all chart types above except the Individuals & Moving Range chart, you can specify the sample size by typing the number in this box.
- Minimum n per sample
- Specify a minimum n per sample by typing it in this box. Samples with fewer observations than the minimum specified will be ignored. This option is available for Xbar & R, Xbar & S, Moving Average, EWMA and R, EWMA and S, P, and Np chart types.
- Moving average span
- Specify here the span for the n-point moving average line, for the moving average (MA) chart that is generated when Moving Average, Moving Average & R, or Moving Average & S is selected in the Chart type list.
- EWMA
- Specify here the value of lambda for constructing the exponentially weighted moving average line (chart). See also, computational details for more information.
- SPC Options
- Click the SPC Options button to display the IQC Options dialog, where you can edit more details for the selected SPC Characteristic.
- Cancel
- Click the Cancel button to cancel the running of the Analysis Configuration.
- Next
- Click the Next button to continue editing the details of the Analysis Configuration and edit the Defining Auto Updating Properties.
- Finish
- Click the Finish button to complete the option selected and run the Analysis Configuration.
