Persistence Server Fault Tolerance

Replication of data among a quorum of servers ensures that the cluster as whole remains complete and correct, despite temporary outage of some of its servers.

For best results, insulate each server host from the other servers and the factors that might make them unavailable. For example, ensure that server hosts rely on separate power circuits and separate network infrastructure.

Do not locate server hosts at geographically distant sites, as that would increase communication latency.

Note: This level of fault tolerance alone is not sufficient to support disaster recovery. For information about the disaster recovery feature, see Disaster Recovery.
