Suspending a Persistence Cluster

You can suspend all the servers in a persistence cluster, however, you cannot suspend a server individually.

Suspending a cluster is a prerequisite subtask to saving the state of its servers (the subtask that follows).

If authentication and authorization are enabled, you must be in the ftl-admin authorization group to do this task.

Note: A suspended server is still an active process. However, a suspended server does not communicate with clients, nor with other servers. Its only available operation is to save its state to a file.
Note: After a server process is suspended, it cannot resume normal communication with clients nor with other servers. To return to normal operation, you must stop the server process, and then restart it.

Procedure

  1. Open the persistence clusters status table.
  2. Locate the cluster to suspend, and click its Suspend icon.
  3. Confirm.
  4. Wait until all the servers in the cluster are suspended.

To verify suspension, check for the pause icon in the Server Status column of the servers list, or check the server log messages.
