Appendix E. CA-7 Job Scheduler Interface
The platform server can trigger the execution of jobs on the z/OS system through the CA-7 Job Scheduler. This is achieved by utilizing the CA-7 interface module called U7SVC that is distributed as part of the CA-7 software product.
Module U7SVC is automatically loaded at the platform server initialization time. It is invoked after a file transfer is successfully completed. For the platform server to load U7SVC, it must either be in the platform server load library or concatenated in the STEPLIB DD statement of the startup PROC. When a data set is successfully created, the name of the data set and the volume serial on which it is created are passed to the U7SVC module. The z/OS installation must use data set triggering within CA-7 to schedule the execution of jobs.
