Joining (Tree Clustering) - Introductory Overview

The examples in the Introductory Overviews illustrate the goal of the joining or tree clustering algorithm. The purpose of this algorithm is to join together objects (for example, animals) into successively larger clusters, using some measure of similarity or distance. A typical result of this type of clustering is the hierarchical tree.
