General ANOVA/MANOVA Overview

The following discussions are a primer on the basic logic, assumptions, and terminology of analysis of variance techniques. To learn how to specify particular designs in ANOVA/MANOVA, refer to Notes where the general conventions for specifying designs are explained. For detailed examples of selected common designs, refer to Examples. Note also that ANOVA/MANOVA is a subset of the GLM module in the sense that all designs that can be analyzed via ANOVA/MANOVA can also be analyzed via Statistica GLM, while the reverse is not true. Therefore, to learn more about the general approach ANOVA, or to learn about the General Linear Model, refer also to the Introductory Overview for GLM.

Statistica Power Analysis

Note that Statistica Power Analysis is designed to allow you to compute statistical power and estimate required sample size while planning experiments, and to evaluate experimental effects in your existing data. You will find many features in this module designed to allow you to perform these calculations quickly and effectively in a wide variety of data analysis situations (including tests for planned contrasts, one-way ANOVA and two-way ANOVA).
