Return Codes

Whenever a message is recorded by Substation ES, the message has a return code value of zero or greater. When an error is encountered, the return code value is greater than four. Return code values are passed back to the application program or reported by system modules.

To resolve informational and error messages, review the message that contains the return code. The following table can help you identify the cause of the reported condition.
Return Code Description
0000 Associated with all informational messages (SX*xxxxI).

User Response: Refer to the issuing message for an explanation and action to take. Normally, no response is required.

0002 Associated with all informational messages for which Substation ES normally takes action (SX*xxxxI).

0004 Associated with all warning messages (SX*xxxxW).

0008 Associated with all error messages (SX*xxxxE).

0012 Associated with all catastrophic or critical messages (SX*xxxxC).

0016 Associated with all fatal or serious messages (SX*xxxxF or SX*xxxxS).

0020 Associated with all fatal or serious messages that are unrecoverable (SX*xxxxF or SX*xxxxS).
