Introduction to the Tools

TIBCO MDM provides a collection of tools that help you view and download logs and configuration files; view the status of a node, a cache, and index entities of TIBCO Patterns; and delete records from a repository.

Note: For information about the access rights to the Tools menu and the submenus, see User Role Matrix.

Preparing for Log Download

You must perform the following tasks before you download logs and view the status of the node.
  • In a cluster environment (multiple TIBCO MDM nodes are running), enable the Node Registration configuration property in the Configurator. By default, the value is set to false. If you set the value to true, availability information about each node is updated in the database.
  • If you have enabled the property, you must set the following environment variables for the TIBCO MDM server to start correctly:
    • MDMPORT (Mandatory): Port number on which the TIBCO MDM node is running.
    • PROTOCOL: Specifies a protocol such as http or https to access the TIBCO MDM node. By default, the http protocol is used.
