Data Entry
Statistica Data Entry can be used to configure data entry scenarios and to administer data entry via web browsers.
It can also be used to analyze data using all the graphical data analysis, statistical analysis, and data mining capabilities of the Statistica Enterprise software platform.
Statistica Data Entry objects:
- Characteristic: Numeric field for a web form (e.g., grain-level measurement).
- Label: Text or date data for a web form (e.g., bakery name).
- Sample piece (SamplePiece): An individual entry in a sample. This can contain labels and measurements.
- Sample data (SampleData): The data (i.e., the collection of pieces) within the sample.
- Sample: The sample container.
- Data Entry Setups (StandardProfile): Groups of characteristics and labels configured with specific user/group permissions to collect the appropriate data via a web form.
- Data Entry Setup Sequences (StandardProfileSequence): Grouping and ordering of Data Entry Setups.
- Data Entry (DataEntry): Main interface for entering and searching data-entry samples.
Data entry administrators create the web forms (Data Entry Setups) and save them in the Enterprise System View folder. These Data Entry Setups grant users access to enter data and approve entered data.
Optionally, multiple Data Entry Setups can be grouped together and ordered within the Data Entry Setup Sequence. Once set up, the sequence guides you from one form to the next during data entry.
Examples:
The following series of examples demonstrates data entry for a fictitious bakery, ACME bakery. This bakery company has four locations, with around five bakers working at each location. We will be collecting bread-mixture samples from various locations, which will measure the cups of grain in each mixture. Each mixture (i.e., sample piece) will come from a different baker.
After we have entered our samples, we will create a Quality Control analysis to review them. We will also connect a Report and MAS dashboard to this analysis to review its results.
Finally, after detecting numerous issues with the mixtures from a particular baker (Gabi), we will perform an exploratory review of the samples’ data. Here, we will discover mistakes made by the data entry user/admin himself, Blake—thus vindicating the baker.
Setup: run the examples Adding a user and Adding a folder to add the user and folder required for these examples.
