Upgrading from Version 7.2.5

You can upgrade TIBCO MFT Internet Server from version 7.2.5. When upgrading from version 7.2 or an earlier version, you should install a separate Java installation. This is because version 7.2 makes changes to the java.security file and adds executable jar files to the jre/lib/ext directory; newer versions of TIBCO MFT Internet Server do not work if these changes are still in place. To allow fallback to 7.2.5, you should install a new Java version and use this for the TIBCO MFT Internet Server installation.

Procedure

  1. Create a new installation directory to hold the new installation files on the server where version 7.2.5 is installed and running.
  2. Stop the application or service.
  3. Uninstall TIBCO MFT Internet Server.
If it is running on Windows, see Removing the TIBCO MFT Internet Server Service on Windows for information on how to uninstall TIBCO MFT Internet Server.
  4. Verify all the prerequisites are met by reading through the TIBCO MFT Internet Server Readme file.
  5. Follow the instructions in Installing TIBCO MFT Internet Server.

Result

When the installation is finished and you no longer want to keep the version 7.2.5 installation on your server, you can delete the old installation directory.
