Configuring Business Data Services to Use a Separate Database
If you want to configure Business Data Services (BDS) to use a separate database to the ActiveMatrix BPM runtime database, in a different location, use the
Edit TIBCO ActiveMatrix BPM Instance wizard to stop the ActiveMatrix BPM application. After moving the database, rerun the wizard to update ActiveMatrix BPM and restart the application.
Procedure
On the machine on which ActiveMatrix BPM is running, run TIBCO Configuration Tool:
TIBCO_HOME\bpm\n.n\bin\tct
where
TIBCO_HOME is the directory into which ActiveMatrix BPM is installed and
n.n is the ActiveMatrix BPM version number.
In the
TIBCO Configuration Folder dialog, ensure that an appropriate folder is selected, and click
OK.
In the
Create new configurations dialog, click
Edit TIBCO ActiveMatrix BPM Instance.
The
Edit TIBCO ActiveMatrix BPM Instance wizard is started.
On the
Welcome page, ensure that the correct environment name and application name are displayed. In the
Edit Action to be Performed list, select
Stop AMX-BPM Product Application.
On the
Administrator Server Configuration page, ensure that the details are correct, and click
Next.
On the
Summary page, click
Configure.
When the specified ActiveMatrix BPM application has been stopped, click
Close.
Move the ActiveMatrix BPM BDS database so that it is separate, using whichever method you prefer, as long as the database remains unchanged: it must retain exactly the same structure, including users, permissions, data dictionary, and data contents. Special care may be needed to correctly move all binary data used by the ActiveMatrix BPM system.
