Verifying Classification Schemes
Complete the following steps to verify classification schemes.
Procedure
- Click the Classification Schemes tab on the View Repository screen. The classification scheme created for the selected repository is displayed.
-
Click the name of a classification scheme in the Classification Scheme Name column. The Classification Scheme screen is displayed.
- Attribute Mapping: Refers to the attribute based classification.
The other available option is Rulebase, that is, classification is defined by rulebase.
The Classification Extraction Method displays any one of the following three options based on your selection in TIBCO MDM Studio:
- Manual: When the record is added, it is not automatically classified. By default, the Manual option is selected.
For the Manual extraction method, attribute mapping for defining hierarchy position is not required and you can define the category hierarchy using TIBCO MDM Studio or CSV upload. The records are manually classified while creating or modifying records. Records can be classified before record data is saved.
- Automatic: The records are automatically classified. You cannot classify the records. Records are classified only after record data is saved.
- Mixed: If a record is not explicitly classified, automatic classification happens. However, if you manually classify the records, the record is not automatically classified unless existing classification is removed.
For Automatic and Mixed extraction methods, if you create classification schemes based on repository attribute mapping, you must define the repository attributes to each hierarchical position. The mapping of this attribute definition defines how and where to extract data for forming a category hierarchy and classifying the record.
For Automatic Attribute Mapping based classification scheme, the hierarchy position defines hierarchical position of a category and sub-category. The position is defined using AttributeMapping against that hierarchy position.
