Copying a Repository

The Copy Repository screen enables you to copy the latest version of a selected repository. The entire metadata of the existing repository gets copied. However, it does not copy records of one repository to another.

Procedure

  1. Log in to TIBCO MDM.
  2. Click Master Data > Repositories. The Repositories screen is displayed.
  3. Select the repository, and then click . The copy is a snapshot of the repository metadata at the time of copy. The name and description of the original repository that you want to make a copy of is displayed.
  4. Enter a new name and description for the copy of the repository, then click Save.

When a repository is copied, the following objects are copied:

    • Input maps
    • Custom output maps
    • Custom classifications
    • Attributes, attribute groups, and relationships
    • Access permissions
    • Relationships (Relationships are copied and renamed. The application creates a unique name for the copied relationship.)

The following objects are not copied:

    • Associated subsets
    • Synchronization profiles
    • Table name
      Note:
      • When a repository is created, you can specify the table name and a column name for the attributes. However, when a repository is copied, you cannot specify the table name. Instead, the application automatically generates the table name.
      • For a cross-repository relationship, names (both reverse and forward) are created using the following pattern to avoid the duplication of names: relname_Newrepositoryid_COPY
