Deployment Mode

TIBCO MDM can be configured for deployment, with ActiveSpaces in a peer-to-peer configuration where MDM members act as SEEDERS and centralize configuration where MDM members act as LEECH.

  • With ActiveSpaces in a true peer-to-peer configuration where all the members are direct peers to each other. Each member acts as SEEDER here. In this configuration all the members contribute to the cache size. SEEDER plays an active role in maintaining the space by providing CPU and RAM.
  • With ActiveSpaces where MDM members act as LEECH to a centralized distributed cache server. LEECH plays a passive role; it has access to space data but provides no resources.

For high performance scenarios, deploy TIBCO MDM in true peer-to-peer SEEDER role. Default configuration is SEEDER.
