Creating Payload Data for Global Signals

You can define normal or correlation payload data for global signals.

Correlation payload data is used to match waiting catch signal event process instances to specified signal instances.

Procedure

  1. On the Global Signals panel, select the global signal you want to add payload data for.
  2. On the Payload Data panel, select PayloadData.
  3. Check Use for Signal Correlation if this payload data element is used to match waiting catch signal event process instances to specific signal instances.
Check Mandatory if this payload data element is mandatory.
Note: When you use global signals in a process, use the Map to Signal (map the process data to the global signal payload for global throw signal events) and Map from Signal (map the global signal payload to the process data for global catch signal events) tabs available for the respective global signal events.

Correlation data payload changes are not permitted on Global Signal project upgrade. Therefore signal correlation parameters cannot be changed unless the major version is changed.

You must take care to ensure that only valid changes are made. If you upgrade a Global Signal Definition project, any changes you have made to a BOM class referenced by a payload data field are not validated against.
