Resource Information
The Organization Browser contains a Resource Editor that is used to view and/or edit resource-related information.
You can view and/or edit the following:
- Memberships - You can map resources to groups or positions using the Resource Editor.
The Resource Editor displays icons that indicate whether or not the resource(s) you are mapping have the required capabilities for the positions or groups to which you are mapping them.
For more information, see Mapping Resources Using the Resource Editor.
- Capabilities - Capabilities represent skills needed to perform a task, for instance, being able to speak a foreign language. You can edit capabilities assigned to resources via the Resource Editor.
For more information, see Capabilities.
- Privileges - Privileges represent authorities. They are used by the BPM application to determine which functions the user can access in the BPM application.
Privileges cannot be directly assigned to resources — they are acquired by being mapped to groups or positions.
The Resource Editor lists all of the defined privileges, plus for each position and group, it shows the privileges inherited by resources mapped to the position or group.
For more information, see Viewing Privilege Information In the Resource Editor.
- Resource Attributes
- Resource attributes are used to store information about resources. For example, there may be an “EmailAddress” attribute defined, in which each resource’s email address is stored.
From the Resource Editor, you can view and edit resource attribute values.
For more information, see Resource Attributes.
- Push Destinations - Resource push destinations specify the destinations to which work items that are sent directly to the resource are to be “pushed”. You can specify one or more push destinations for each resource. For information, see Resource Push Destinations.
