Statistics Breakdown (Non-Factorial) - Quick tab

Select the Quick tab of the Statistics Breakdown (non-factorial) dialog box to access options for specifying a set of categorical (breakdown) variables and select the dependent variables to be subcategorized. The Descriptives tab contains numerous options to examine various descriptive statistics broken down into by groups.

Variables

Click this button to display a standard variable selection dialog box, in which you can select a set of grouping (categorization) variables and the dependent variables to be subcategorized.

For each dependent variable, breakdown tables are computed for all possible combinations of grouping variables. Note that Statistica automatically takes all valid integer codes in the respective grouping variables to construct the tables. A breakdown variable also can be continuous in nature. In this case, each distinct value of the breakdown variable defines a single group (category). To select a continuous variable as a breakdown variable, first clear the Show appropriate variables only check box, located in the lower-left corner of the variables selection dialog box to display all the variables in the data set in the variable lists.

Options

This group box contains options concerning the output summary spreadsheet.

Sorted Output

Select this check box to sort the output in this manner:

  1. All values with text labels alphabetically
  2. All non-text numerically
  3. The missing data code

Include all missing category

When this check box is selected, missing data in all specified grouping variables result in new categories being defined in the output spreadsheet.

Include total (All Groups) row

This check box is selected by default. When the check box is cleared, all internal computations are unchanged, but the All Groups row (totals of all groups) is not created in the output spreadsheet.
