Saving a Spreadsheet

To save the active spreadsheet, follow these instructions:

Procedure

  1. Select Save from the File menu, or click the Save toolbar button. The spreadsheet is saved using the file name and location defined when you last saved the spreadsheet.
  2. If you have not yet saved the active spreadsheet, or if you want to save it using a different file name or location, select Save As from the File menu.
  3. Using the Save in drop-down list box, select the file location where you want to save the active spreadsheet.
  4. Type the desired name in the File name box.
  5. If Save As was selected, optionally select the Save as type.
Note: When saving a spreadsheet of more than 10,000 cells as type "HTML File (*.htm)," the number of cases in the saved spreadsheet are truncated so that the number of cells is less than 10,000. This is because large HTML spreadsheets take a long time to display and are, as a result, difficult to use.
  6. Click the Save button.
