Structural Modeling Wizard - Exogenous Variables
Click the Structural Modeling option button in the SEPATH Wizard - Select Wizard dialog box to launch the Structural Modeling Wizard. Use the Structural Modeling Wizard - Exogenous Variables dialog box to define the measurement model for the independent, or exogenous latent variables in your path diagram. These are the variables with no arrows pointing to them.
- Exogenous variables
- Enter the names of the common factors in the Exogenous variables fields.
- Vars
- Click the Vars button to display a list of currently available manifest variables. Use this list to select which variables load on a particular factor. The variables you have already selected to load on a particular latent variable appear in the Manifest Vars field.
- Base name for residual variables
- Enter a base name for your residual variables in Base name for residual variables field. The names of the residual variables will be constructed by adding an integer (starting at one) to this base name. So, for example, if you enter EPS as the base name, and you have four manifest variables, your residual variables will be named EPS1, EPS2, EPS3, and EPS4.
- Starting parameter number
- Enter a starting parameter number in the Starting parameter number box. The free parameters in your model will be numbered consecutively, starting at this value.
- Factors
- Click the appropriate option button under Factors to indicate whether you want the common factors to be Uncorrelated or Correlated. If you decide to have correlations for your factors, the Structural Modeling Wizard - Correlate Factors dialog box prompts you for these correlations.
- Residual Vars
- Click the appropriate option button under Residual Vars to indicate whether you want the residuals to be Uncorrelated or Correlated. If you decide to have correlations for your residual variables, the Structural Modeling Wizard - Correlate Residuals dialog box prompts you for these correlations.
- OK
- Click the OK button to proceed to the next dialog box in the Structural Modeling Wizard.
- Exit
- Click the Exit button to leave the Structural Modeling Wizard without completing a model.
- Back
- Click the Back button to return to the previous dialog box in the Structural Modeling Wizard.
