Customizing STATISTICA - Menus Overview
Menus in STATISTICA are customizable just as toolbars are (see Toolbar Overview). Although menus cannot house all the special controls that are available for toolbars (see Toolbars and Menus in STATISTICA for a comparison of the two types of command bars), it is possible to customize existing menus by adding simple options. Essentially, you can drag any command or macro onto a menu (see Customize Menus). Additionally, you can customize shortcut menus (the menus accessed by right-clicking your mouse).
The current view determines which menu bars are displayed. For example, if you are viewing a graph, the menu bar for graphs will be visible with options for layouts, drawing objects, and inserting objects, as well as other options. Graph specific menus would not be available from the menu bar when a spreadsheet or macro is active.
Unlike toolbars, which can be toggled via the Toolbars tab of the Customize dialog (available via the Tools - Customize menu) or the View - Toolbars menu command, menu bars cannot be turned off manually. However, they are replaced with real menus for in-place editing of non-STATISTICA objects. For example, if you are editing a Microsoft Word document within a STATISTICA Workbook, a Microsoft Word menu bar is available.
There are six main menu bars in STATISTICA: graph, macro, non-document, report, spreadsheet, and workbook. Fourteen additional menu bars exist and are available when one type of STATISTICA document is being edited within another STATISTICA document (e.g., the report.graph menu bar is available when a graph embedded within a report is edited).
