Deleting Cases

Unlike deleting (clearing) the contents of a highlighted range or block of values in the spreadsheet, deleting cases removes both the contents of the rows and the rows itself, regardless of whether or not all variables or only a subset of variables are currently highlighted for the respective cases.

Therefore, the subsequent cases are moved up and the size of the file decreases. You can delete one or more cases (rows) from the current spreadsheet when you designate the range (inclusive) of cases to be deleted in the Delete Cases dialog box.
