Workspace Node: Two-Way Joining Clustering - Specifications - Quick Tab

The Two-Way Joining Clustering workspace node can be accessed from the Feature Finder, the ribbon bar, or the Node Browser. The Specifications - Quick tab is displayed by default when you open the specifications dialog box.

Element Name Description
Variables Click this button to display a variable selection dialog box, in which you select the variables to be included in the analysis.
Threshold Value This group box contains two options: User defined and Computed from data (Std. dev./2). The two-way joining algorithm attempts to simultaneously cluster cases and variables. The threshold parameter determines when the algorithm will consider two numbers in the data matrix to be equal, and thus satisfactorily classified in the same cluster. If this value is very large (relative to the numbers in the data matrix), only one cluster will be formed; if it is very small, each data point will represent a cluster by itself.
User defined When you select this option button, enter a threshold parameter for the analysis in the box adjacent to the button or use the microscrolls to adjust the value.
Computed from data (Std. dev./2). When you select this option button, Statistica uses the default value (the overall standard deviation divided by 2) for the threshold parameter, which is recommended for most cases.
MD deletion Missing data can be deleted Casewise or by Mean Substitution depending on the selection in this group box.
Casewise If this option button is selected, only cases that do not contain any missing data for any of the variables selected for the analysis will be included in the analysis.
Mean substitution If this option button is selected, missing data will be replaced by the means for the respective variables (for this analysis only, not in the data file).

Options / C / W. See Common Options.

OK Click the OK button to accept all the specifications made in the dialog box and to close it. The analysis results will be placed in the Reporting Documents node after running (updating) the project.
