Fit Distributions Dialog Box and Quick Tab
In the Distributions & Simulation Analysis Startup Panel, select Fit Distribution and click the OK button to display the Fit Distributions dialog box. This dialog box contains four tabs: Quick, Continuous variables, Discrete variables, and Options.
Quick Tab
- Variables
- Click the
Variables button to display a standard variable selection dialog box, in which you select the variables for the analysis.
The following options are available regardless of which tab is selected.
- OK
- After selecting the variables and the appropriate distributions to fit each variable, click the OK button to display the Fit Distributions Results dialog box.
- Cancel
- Click the Cancel button to close this dialog box (without performing an analysis) and return to the Distributions & Simulation Analysis Startup Panel.
- Options
- Click the Options button to display the Options menu.
- Open Data
- Click the Open Data button to display the Select Data Source dialog box, which is used to choose the spreadsheet on which to perform the analysis. The Select Data Source dialog box contains a list of the spreadsheets that are currently active.
- Select Cases
- Click the Select Cases button to display the Analysis/Graph Case Selection Conditions dialog box, which is used to create conditions for which cases will be included (or excluded) in the current analysis. More information is available in the case selection conditions overview, syntax summary, and dialog box description. Note that other options are provided in the subsequent dialog boxes to specifically identify observations that are to be used as a test sample (see also the Overview for details).
- W
- Click the W (Weight) button to display the Analysis/Graph Case Weights dialog box, which is used to adjust the contribution of individual cases to the outcome of the current analysis by "weighting" those cases in proportion to the values of a selected variable. In the STATISTICA Distributions & Simulation module, weights are interpreted as simple case multipliers.
- MD deletion
- If Pairwise deletion of missing data is selected, all valid data points will be included in the analyses for the respective variables (resulting possibly in unequal valid N per variable). If Casewise deletion of missing data is selected, STATISTICA will ignore all cases that have missing data for any of the variables selected in the list.
