Select the Review & save tab of the Results dialog box to access the options described here.

Option Description
Distance matrix Creates a spreadsheet with the matrix of reproduced distances, given the current number of dimensions and configuration of points.
Start (initial) configuration Reviews the parameter estimation. This spreadsheet displays the results of the analysis with the initial configuration. For a description on how the initial configuration is used to calculate the parameter estimation, see Parameter estimation .
Save final configuration Displays the coordinates for the final configuration in a standard Statistica Spreadsheet (shown in an individual window, regardless of the settings in the Options - Output Manager or the Analysis/Graph Output Manager dialog box). You can, however, add the spreadsheet to a workbook or report using the or buttons, respectively. Note that in order to save the spreadsheet, you must select the spreadsheet and select either Save or Save as from the File menu.

The number of variables in the new spreadsheet are equal to the number of dimensions specified for the current multidimensional scaling analysis. This spreadsheet (file) can later be accessed by all other Statistica methods of analyses. For example, you can specify the configuration stored in this file as the starting configuration for subsequent analyses. You can also combine this file with another data file containing additional variables. Multiple Regression techniques (regressing these auxiliary variables on the coordinates for the different dimensions) are often used to aid in the interpretation of dimensions. Finally, these files can be used in graphics to produce a variety of specialized 2-D and 3-D graphs of the respective solutions.
