Sequence Tab

Select the Sequence tab of the Link analysis Startup Panel to access options to determine various parameters that will guide the sequence algorithm during the analysis. These options will determine how sequences will be constructed.

This tab is available only for sequential analysis (i.e., when the Non-sequential association analysis check box on the Quick tab is not selected).

Options for results.

Use each case as sequential single-element itemsets
Select this check box to use a simple data format where consecutive response variables columns in each case represent a sequence with sequential single-element itemsets.
Maximum number of itemsets in a sequence
Specifies the maximum number of itemsets that can be included in a single sequence.
Min/Max filter
Select this check box to extract only sequences no shorter and longer (in time) as specified in the Minimum and Maximum boxes. Time is measured in units specified by the time variable (which can be selected via the Variable options on the Quick tab).
Minimum
The minimum of time before which no sequences will be extracted from the data set.
Maximum
The maximum of time after which no sequences will be extracted from the data set.
Into an itemset in sequence
The options displayed in this group box will determine the size and the manner in which sequences are defined.
Combine the fixed number of itemsets
Use this option to fix the number of itemsets that a single sequence can contain.
Combine itemsets with fixed length of time
Use this option to fix the length of time for which all occurring itemsets will fall into the same sequence.
