Fast Independent Component Analysis Startup Panel - Quick Tab
Select the Quick tab of the Fast Independent Component Analysis (ICA) Startup Panel to access the options described here.
Element Name | Element Type | Description |
---|---|---|
Variables | Button | Displays a standard variable selection dialog box. |
Number of Components | Field | Specify in this field the number of principal components to be extracted for the data set. Note that the number of components must not exceed the number of variables selected from the data set. |
Random Number Seed | Field | This field contains the seed for the random number generator for initializing the weight variable w. |
Maximum Number of Iterations | Field | STATISTICA Fast ICA uses an iterative algorithm that extracts the principal components in a finite number of steps. Enter in this field the maximum number of iterations the Fast ICA can take for extracting these components. The default is 200. |
Alpha | Field | Use this field to modify the value of the alpha parameter needed for calculating the Log-cosh function. |
Tolerance (convergence) | Field | The value in this field measures the convergence of the Fast ICA algorithm. The smaller the value of tolerance, the sooner (before maximum number of iterations is reached) the algorithm will stop. |
