GC&RT Results - Node Tab

Select the Node tab of the GC&RT Results dialog box to access options to review the results for each node in any tree in greater detail. You can specify the number of the node for which you want to display the selected detailed statistics or graphs.

Element Name Description
Node id Select the node from the Node id list for which to display the respective results.
Data belonging to node Click this button to create a spreadsheet containing the data belonging to the node selected in the Node id list. Simultaneously, a parallel coordinate plot for these data will be produced for the selected node, showing the pattern of values for the observations belonging to this node, across the predictor variables. This graph is extremely useful for identifying typical patterns of predictor values for particular terminal classifications or nodes.
Histogram of DV belonging to node Click this button to produce a histogram of responses for the data belonging to the selected node.
Surrogate vars belonging to node Click this button to display information about surrogate predictors that were used to assign some cases with missing data (on the major variables used for splitting) to the selected node (for details on how to select splitting on surrogate variables, see also the description of the Number of surrogates option on the Quick specs dialog box - Advanced tab). The output displays the surrogate variable, the association value which denotes strength of relationship between the split variable and the surrogate variable, the split sign, and split constant. Note that for the split sign, a "+" sign indicates that if a case has a value for the specific surrogate variable that is greater than the split constant, the case will then propagate to the left child node and to the right otherwise. The "-" indicates the standard split, that is, if the value is less than or equal to the split constant, then the case propagates to the left child node and to right otherwise.
SQL Code (Selection Rule) Choose this option to generate the rules for classifying observations into the respective node (as selected in the Node id field), in the form of SQL code. To generate SQL code for all terminal nodes, use the SQL code for all terminal nodes option on the GC&RT Results dialog box - Report tab.
