Variables

Click the Variables button to display the Select Variables dialog box, from which you can select one or more variables to rank.

Cases
|
Click the Cases button to display the Case Selection Conditions dialog box. Here, you specify a subset of cases to be ranked. The specified condition will apply to every variable selected above.

Weight
|
Before ranking, you can weight the variables selected above by another variable in the spreadsheet. Click the Weight button to display the Define Weight dialog box, from which you can select the weighting variable.

Assign rank 1 to
|
Use the options in the Assign rank 1 to group box to rank values in smallest value (smallest value of variable starts with 1) or largest value (largest value of variable starts with 1) order.

Ranks for ties
|
There are four options available in the Ranks for ties group box to assign ranks to tied values:
- mean - Select the mean options button to assign the ranks of tied values as the mean of those ranks.
- sequential - Select the sequential option to rank each tied value sequentially (ignore ties).
- low - Select the low option button to assign the lowest rank of the values in the tie as the rank for each value in the tie.
- high - Select the high option button to assign the highest rank of the values in the tie as the rank for each value in the tie.

Type of ranks

Use the options in the Type of ranks group box to select the type of rank you want to perform.
- regular. Select the regular option button to specify that the rank range is from 1 to n.
- fractional. Select the fractional option button to specify that the rank range is from 0 to 1.
- fractional %. Select the fractional % option button to specify that the ranks are percentages based on the fractional ranking of the values of variables.

OK

After making your selections for ranking order, click the OK button.

Cancel
|
Click the Cancel button to close this dialog box. Any selections made are disregarded.
