Multiple Response
In the Statistica Reporting Tables dialog box, in the Derived variables group box, click the Multiple Response button to display the Multiple Response dialog box. Use these options to create or modify a multiple response or multiple dichotomy variable group. When a group is created, it will be added to the Variables list and can be edited by double-clicking on the group name.
For information on the meaning and applications of multiple response and multiple dichotomy variables, see the Multiple Responses/Dichotomies Overviews.
Select Variables. Click this button to display a variable selection dialog box. Select two or more variables that will be included in the multiple response or multiple dichotomy group.
Name of logical variable. Type a name for the group in this text box. The name will be displayed in the Variables list and act as the default label when the variable group is assigned to an axis.
Type of Multiple Response Factor.
Multiple Dichotomy. Select this option button to specify multiple dichotomy mode for this group. In a multiple dichotomy group, the set of possible responses is the list of variables in the group, and the actual responses in any given case are those variables in the group with a true code value.
Count Value. Specify the numeric code to be considered true for the variables in the group.
Codes. Click this button to display the Multiple Dichotomy Codes dialog box, where you select the desired true code. Note that when the input data set has text labels assigned, the SVB macro will record this selection in terms of the label rather than the numeric code.
Multiple Response. Select this option button to specify multiple response mode for this group. In a multiple response group, the set of possible responses is determined by the set of codes present in the variables when the report is run. Actual responses for a given case are the non-missing values of all the variables in the group.
Count unique responses only (ignore multiple identical responses). When this check box is selected, Statistica will discard duplicate values. This may happen when two variables in the group have the same value in a given case.
