Snap to Grid

The "snap to grid" facility, enabled by clicking the button on the Graphs Tools toolbar or the Snap to Grid command on the View menu, aligns drawing objects with the drawing grid, an invisible network of lines that covers the drawing area (the grid may be displayed by pressing CTRL+G or selecting the Alignment Grid command from the View menu).

When this facility is enabled, inserted objects are always pulled into alignment with gridlines or intersections of gridlines (the "snap to grid" effect).  The default spacing of gridlines is 5% of the display; the vertical and horizontal spacing between gridlines can be changed.  Initially, the grid begins at the 0,0 point in the upper-left corner of the graph window, but you can change the location from which gridlines are measured by editing the Horizontal and Vertical Origin values.

When placing objects, and when the Snap to Grid option is turned On, you may temporarily turn it Off while dragging an object (to make fine adjustments to the object's position, independent of the grid) by first clicking on the object, and then holding down the ALT key.

Horizontal/Vertical Spacing
Specify the vertical and horizontal spacing of the gridlines in the Horizontal/Vertical Spacing fields.
Horizontal/Vertical Origin
Specify the location (horizontal and/or vertical) in the graph at which Statistica will begin to draw the gridlines in the Horizontal/Vertical Origin fields.
Snap to Grid
Use the Snap to Grid group box to set the default action of the Snap to Grid.

On (Fixed only)
Select the On (Fixed only) option button to enable the Snap to Grid effect only for objects placed in Fixed mode; you can temporarily turn it Off while dragging an object by first clicking on the object, and then holding down the ALT key.
On (Fixed and Dynamic)
Select the On (Fixed only) option button to enable the Snap to Grid effect for objects placed in either Fixed or Dynamic mode; you may temporarily turn it Off while dragging an object by first clicking on the object, and then holding down the ALT key.
