Specify Effect to Estimate

Click either the Estimate button (if you have not already specified your matrix of coefficients) or the button beside the Estimate button on the GLM or ANOVA Results - Summary tab or the GRM Results - Summary tab to display the Specify Effect to Estimate dialog box. This data entry spreadsheet lists as the row titles the labels for the columns in the design matrix. These labels, and the interpretation (coding) of the columns in the design matrix can be reviewed via the Design terms option described in the Summary results for between effects in GLM topic or the GRM and ANOVA Results - Summary tab. To specify a custom hypothesis:

· Enter the coefficients for L's into the respective rows and columns; note that the custom hypothesis can involve multiple simultaneous linear combinations of the parameter estimates, i.e., multiple columns in the spreadsheet.

· All cells in the spreadsheet that are left empty and all non-numeric input will be interpreted as 0 (zero); all columns in the spreadsheet that are left empty will be ignored.

Element Name Description
OK After you have finished entering the coefficients, click the OK button and then the Estimate button on the Summary tab to display the results for the custom hypothesis.
